My bad - I didn't do a sketchbook mosaic, but righjt away went big - 11"x15" -- maybe my largest painting. (I tend to work small.) The background learning I've acquired from such wonderful teachers as Denise and others have given me much to consider as this evolved from taping to color choices and water use. 

My special little mint tin with a favorite collection of oranges and yellows served me well. I thought about values,  textures, contrast and the whole of the piece. which may lack a strong enough focal point. Regardles, it was a very deliberate project, a creatively stimulating one with so many considerations. Loved Denise's idea of leaving bits of tape for resisting color here and there. The whole process felt engaging and challenging.
