i got to thinking that the reason my ink and watercolor sketches aren't very good is because I don't understand sketching in general and since trees are in most everything I try to draw I needed to start there...

This one is a bit lopsided...  I'm not sure I understand yet.

I went in for a tree in my backyard but sort of got hung up on the leaves...  They are so visible and don't really clump as in the demonstrations.

At this point I thought maybe the starting point is really learning to hatch and shade...  Back to more classes...
