Understanding Light and Shadow

Hi B D,  Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for posting and sharing your work!  Its a little hard to tell, but did you do this with markers or paint?  It feels like this was maybe more of a sketch, but I don't want to assume that. I think theres a few things going on with the axis of the eyes compared to the nose and mouth.  In terms of the shadows and how it relates to the class, I think your shadows could have gone a little bit darker and that would push the light effect more. Right now the difference between values are perhaps a little too close. Its easy to tell what is shadow and light, but without a darker overall value established, things are kind of in a 'middle' value range. Thats about what I can comment on, but again if this was a short sketch I don't want to give to much of a critique heh. Keep it up! :)

This course is interesting! I want to improve my portrait skills and found this course helpful. I also liked the Teacher sharing his experience and observations along the way.
