For this project, I chose to got with a quote from the main character of the anime, One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy. TBH, I was never really a huge fan of One Piece, but as I was looking for a quote for this project, I knew I wanted it to be a quote from an anime. I came accross this one and it resonated with me:

" If you don't take risk, you can't create a future."

It resonates with me because I have always been someone that is rather risk averse. It's taking me a long time to learn that if I ever want to have a future worth having, I have to be brave and take risks.

My process was that I did some lettering and tried outlining the shape that I wanted to fit the letters into. That's when it struck me: Luffy's hat! So I broke it down into shapes and filled in the letters in the shape of Luffy's hat. I think the word "Create" is one of the most important words in this quote, so I chose to make that the red band of his hat. The red hightlights it. I also thought it would look super cool if I gave it a background that is made of of the One Piece symbol. That way its not just a blank background. I then chose two colors that would have enought contrast to make the symbol noticeable, but at the same time not draw too much attentiong away from the main subject..the hat. I also added some texture to the hat to make it look more interesting.
