Midnight Swatch

The moment I saw Jen’s class (late-late night (ʘ‿ʘ)╯) I felt the urgent need to create a project! My art studio is a mix of total chaos and some very organized parts, so having this melange sounded super inspiring.

I was also excited to have a real reason to go to the art supply store and get all the materials I needed. I followed Jen’s advice and found most of the items (cutter, rings, etc.) at the local stores.

Even got a corner rounder :D

I’ve swatched a very special tempera painting set, and just touching this paint creates a very particular texture. I love the muted earthy feel of the paint, and I used colored inks (what a surprise:) with a nib pen to add the info.

☆ Another set is mega awesome neon/fluorescent watercolors I got on the recent trip to southern Germany from the local manufacturer's store. The colors are super intense and work great as an additional accent.

Ahhh, it’s really impossible to stop making these cards, so I’m glad that I have this new option in my creative arsenal. It’s a perfect, calming, and very useful occupation especially when you don’t have much mental energy to create new art but still want to add precious elements to your practice :)
