The City

Thanks, Troy! This was a very helpful and inspiring course. I recently got back into photography, and street photography has quickly become the thing that makes me want to go outside with a camera again.

I chose a few black-and-white frames from my recent walks through the city and was experimenting a little with motion blur and slow shutter speeds.

I’m still trying and testing things but that’s also what I love about street photography: the city keeps writing tiny stories everywhere, and sometimes you’re lucky enough to catch one. :)

Happy to connect with other photographers and learners from this course. I’m also sharing my work on Instagram:

Soft smoke, hard edges. A quiet second with the volume turned all the way up.

Ghosts in daylight. A city moves in fragments, while something old keeps its shape in the middle of it all.

Stillness in motion. Surrounded by movement - the city rushes by, but not every moment has to keep up with its pace.

Moving through the noise. The city blurs around him, but for a second, motion becomes still enough to see.

Between stations. Behind glass, everyone carries their own silence through the city.
