Loose Watercolor Daisy Field for Beginners | Series Week 1

First of all, I think you’re being much harder on yourself than this painting deserves. There is so much lovely energy and movement here. Your composition feels lively and full without becoming chaotic, which is not easy when working with this many flowers and stems. I actually really like the contrast between the softer yellow flowers and the deeper red accents. They help move the eye around the page and keep the piece interesting. And honestly, your greenery does not feel “wrong” to me at all. Wildflowers and loose florals often benefit from uneven, organic greenery because it keeps everything from feeling stiff or overly planned. I also think your larger yellow flowers turned out beautifully. The centers have great texture and depth, and your petals feel expressive and natural. These little studies are exactly where brush control, color mixing, and confidence start coming together, and I can absolutely see your progress from piece to piece. These short classes are really helpful for practising brush strokes and colour mixing. This time I am not so happy with my painting: the red flowers are muddy and the greenery is too uneven.
