My takeways from this course
1) Emotional Intelligence is the pillar of being a good leader. While IQ helps you to get the job, EQ helps you to be a better resource.
2) Self awareness is all about identifying and noticing emotions you go through. Knowing your strength, weakness, value and self confidence.
3) Stress will show up in your body in some or the other way. Notice it, know it, use it as a sign to judge that you are stressed.
4) Self management is first step towards getting organised mindfully. Triggering is natural and it will be different with every person for you. Identify it. Accept it. Find a way to deal with it, handle with emotional care rather than ignoring it.
5) Stop - Take deep breath - Observe - Proceed
6) Build social awareness. Make safe space for teammates. Have empathy not sympathy. Understand mood, judge the room, act accordingly.
7) Navigate your relationship. It's ok to have difficult conversations with your teammates. Conflict will be there always. Make sure you take those as opportunity.
8) PERSPECTIVE - Gain it at first glance. Every conversation will have content, feeling and identity. Go through it. Use mindfullness to earn Emotional Intelligence.
