I loved the class. I'll have to keep on working with the idea. The student projects that integrate both the light and the dark forest are so extra beautiful, and I really want to learn to do that succesfully.

 

Update: I did some more experimentation. Here is a small page where I tried to integrate different colors (green/gray/brown):

I think the simpler black/white forests are prettier, but she specifically said they were okay, but she would like more color. And I do like the result.

This was my favorite corner of that page (the white flowers and dark green half-circle leaves):

I like how I can now take that and fill a whole new page with it, like the patterns keep evolving. 

And it was fun to experiment with small details, such as adding a four-leaf clover:
