Tom boasted he would write a book, but now before paper, he was eating a pen more than writing.

I was sure something unusual was happening down the street.

Down the street it's quieter than usual, even dogs can't be heard.

The irate customer wnated to see the manager.

The customer was grinding her teeth as she hissed for a manager.
