Your cakes look fantastic, Zoe. 🙂 Don't worry about exact color matching. Note that the final tone, tint, or shade depends on so many factors. Paint's ingredients (like pigments, and binding materials) depend on the manufacturer. Also, how much water you add on the mixing palette, to your brush, or to the paper. It's just impossible to give a recipe. However, you can develop the skill to mix very similar colors by diving into color theory, and get an understanding on the main color properties like hue (color), saturation, and brightness (value). Just like Nianiani mentioned.

These are so cute and yummy! I tend to not swatch each mixture because I don't want students to get too caught up recreating exact tones as this is not a formula based thing.. What's important is the overall balance of colours/values/saturation when it comes to a this level of painting. So it's more about the concept of colour placement instead of the exact colours themselves. Hope this makes sense.. You did great! And the addition of the outline gives this a more illustrative look, super cute!

I self learn watercolour by following online videos, the videos are very detailed but it would be better if provide colour scratches along the side as I sometimes mix the colours wrongly ... anyway thanks a lot for filming it, great fun
