just finished this cactus piece on Procreate 🌵✨

Bringing this artwork to life was all about the right tools and techniques. I used  a walled texture background and a mix of textured brushes to give the cactus its natural, slightly rough surface, while soft airbrush strokes helped create smooth gradients and depth. The layering feature made it easy to experiment with colours and shadows without losing detail, and blending tools helped achieve a subtle, realistic transition between light and shade.

I also played with opacity and brush pressure to add fine details like spines and highlights, making the piece feel more dimensional and alive. It’s amazing how the right digital tools can mimic traditional art so beautifully while giving endless creative freedom 💚
