How I Contribute Inclusivity
I completed this project on my own so there is no team component to the team project.
My key values, purpose and expectations are that I practice getting to know people by being curious about their experiences, and seek for commonalities that we share. Owing to my HR experience and profession, I can also provide a safe space for colleagues to share their difficulties, past and present and challenges in the organization or project we work on.
Bringing the ‘me within the team’ is a vulnerable effort. I have an ethnic name and in some environments simply sharing my name might elicit people who refuse to try to pronounce my first name or see me as an “other.’ Since I am a multidimensional person, I find that I cannot share everything about myself in the workplace as it is none of those who are not my friends and loved ones.
My personal motivation always in working with others is to connect people with others. My way of working is to think outside the box, consider the viewpoints of others, synergize diverse approaches and points of view of the people I work with or in society.
