Day 1

I used a Silver Quill #20 instead for the petals, Black Velvet 8 for the leaves. I couldn't help but add some finishing touches with a Raphael Kolinsky long round #3.

I'm taking this class to get un-stuck; to get over fear of touching the white page. I started to loosen up by the end of this painting!

I like how my thin paint color makes a bit of a line around the edges after it dries. Pretty effect. This is helping me understand the importance of paint consistencies. My darker color used to "run away" and kind of take over the petals. Now I know it was because my consistency wasn't thick enough! I also didn't realize how much water I needed for the first layer of the petals.
