This here is the workspace I came up with. This is based on drawing in Aseprite with the default settings, with the color palette on the left and the tools on the right, which I got used to and which give me a clear view of the important settings. I also decided not to add the list of pixels and just keep a bar of many pixels I want to be drawn for brushing.
