Intuitives Malen: Abstracts in Kohle

I really love the soft neutral palette here and the way your layered marks create such a quiet, atmospheric mood. Even if the material is not feeling like a favorite yet, you still found some beautiful texture and movement in these pages. I also think there is something really interesting in the contrast between the structured blocks and those loose looping lines. Sometimes a supply takes a little experimenting before it clicks, and this feels like a strong start.

I understand your dislike, I also never use mine. I do however really like the Art Chunky coloured charcoal by Cretacolor. You can buy them individually as well so you could just try two colours to see if you enjoy those better. But it's still charcoal so it can still get dusty if that's not your thing. But they layer beautifully with a bit of fixative spray in between the layers if you get to a point when it all moves too much for you. But hey, you have tried and experimented and that's so good to find out what you like and that's an important process to find your style and passion. :) So great job, even if you were underwhelmed!

I have to say I don't like using them.  Very messy and the results are underwhelming to me. I'll keep trying to find a way to use them that sings to me!
