Hi Dee Anne - two lovely pieces of artwork, great that you tried out some different colours for your second version. The violet background is  good contrast for the orangey-pink flowers Blurry backgrounds can be tricky, the key is making sure you have pre-wet the paper sufficiently for the colours to mingle and blend together. Your violet background has worked really well. I like your more selective use of colour, and leaving the top flower unpainted on that one too.
