Intuitive play with Watercolor

I genuinely relish these intuitive sessions, where I can freely play and experiment without any preconceived notions. It’s an opportunity for me to grow as an artist and explore creative avenues in unexpected ways. I’m thrilled to learn new techniques and enhance my artistic skills.Intuitive play with Watercolor - image 1 - student project

Leaf Abstract - Denise’s intuitive teaching style inspired me to try something new with the leaf abstract technique. I’ve used this method before, but this time, I added a unique twist. I wet the paper, as usual, and then applied Pyrrol Scarlet watercolor (not watercolor powder) to the wet area. What set this apart was using a Fineliner Applicator to drop Kuretake Gold Mica into the wet watercolor. The result was an explosion of vibrant colors. It was an incredibly fun and visually captivating experience.

I  didn’t have any watercolor powder, so I opted to use watercolor and wet-on-wet technique. I let the watercolor drip and flow freely, allowing it to create its own unique patterns and textures.
