This has been such a valuable class and I know I'm not yet finished with it. What you said in your personal story about avoiding pink and girly things resonated with me.  Creating my Pinterest board showed me the colors I am drawn to are bright and bold - like a new pack of markers. The styles I am drawn to are bright and bold and simple - even childish. But the art I had been attempting wasn't like that. I was using more "sophisticated" colors with lots of detail and texture and shading. Copying my favorite artists was eye-opening - showing me I could keep things simple and produce art I like.
