My Mountains

My Mountains - image 1 - student project

Watercolour landscape I spent for a few days layer by layer. A5 size sheet of paper so just manageable for myself to practice. It would be lovely to try A4 size for this kind of a spectacular landscape scene.

I enjoyed taking a break to let certain layer to dry, and come back with fresh eyes the next day.

What I loved :

The process of planning but also being ok to change things when something didn't turn out as planned.
I loved the adding of the snow although the colour of the mountain got darker than I wanted for the mountain in the middle.

What I learned or what I may do differently next time :

The sizes of the mountains could be a bit smaller if I want the mountains to be more far away from the viewers.
It was quite challenging to paint the groups of trees to look natural and far away from us. Making it all different in sizes/colours, etc. maybe helpful next time. But I like the loose/soft look that is my personal style and preference.

Kolbie's class was one of the landscape painting classes I wanted to take for a long time. Her colour palette with different shades of dark indigo/Payne's grey is one of my favourite in watercolour landscape painting.
Her mindset coaching is a lovely bonus with her gentle, positive guidance to enjoy the creative experience.
Thank you very much, Kolbie :)
