Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have always wanted to create realistic paintings and you have taught me that it takes many, many softer layers to make that happen. I particularly enjoyed seeing how you create the illusion of translucent wings on the abdomen. Oh and I also liked how you remind us to create volume, it's a big reason my paintings/drawings fall flat. From the slow building of the ovals in the thorax to small details like putting shadow on the abdomen from the thorax or under the wings. All the details put together create the illusion of this being real, I loved learning it! I have so much more practice to put in but what a great start! I can't wait to follow more tutorials.
