The class project asked for a 3-photo mini series, but clearly I had other plans because I ended up going a little wild with the iPhone 17 Pro. What can I say… once I started playing with the lenses, I couldn’t stop. 😅

I upgraded from the iPhone 15 (a phone I genuinely loved) but the moment I got the 17 Pro in my hands (and, you know, survived that 6-day line), I knew the camera was going to become my new favorite playground.

If you’ve taken my photography classes, you know I used to carry a mirrorless camera everywhere. That thing was practically glued to me. I found my passion through it, shooting food photography and learning the language of light and texture. But the world changed quickly… and honestly, so did I.

Now? I shoot 90% of my photos (and most of my class B-roll) with an iPhone.

The 17 Pro has only been with me for a few weeks and I already have over a thousand photos on my camera roll. And no, I did not fly to Iceland or Japan (yet… someday!). These photos were taken right outside my home, at a nearby park, in a restaurant, on quiet family walks. Ordinary places that feel extraordinary once you learn to see again.

That’s what I’m most convinced of now:

You don’t need to go somewhere exotic to take beautiful photos.
You don’t need the perfect setup or the perfect moment.
You just need to be intentional, curious, and fully present.

The magic is already happening all around you.

And that’s exactly how these photos came to life:
the wild grass dancing under a pink sky,
the abandoned building my neighbors call an eyesore but looks poetic through my lens,
my son playing with bubbles in the soft morning light,
my husband pretending to be Superman at sunset,
the silhouette of three coconut trees holding up a majestic sky,
a single white flower, quiet and proud,
and that lonely lamp glowing into early night, like a calm exhale.

None of these are gallery-worthy… not yet. But they’re mine. They’re pieces of my heart. They’re how I see my life... in color, in feeling, in tiny beautiful details.

And honestly? The fact that I can create all of this with a tiny device that fits in my handbag… priceless.

So yes, this turned into a full therapy session for a class project caption... Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. 😂  And if you made it this far, you’ve basically seen my soul. We should be friends.

I would LOVE to see your iPhone (or any phone!) photography too. You don’t need the newest model. You don’t need expensive gear. You just need you.

If you’re not sure where to start, I have classes to guide you. But if you’re here because you already took this class... then I’m so excited to see your project and get a little peek into your world.

Let’s keep creating something beautiful, one tiny moment at a time. 💖
