I have three translations on each page so I wanted to make sure my composition contained areas for that text to appear with ease.

I'm struggling with how to make the background behind the characters light and less detailed, but still have an interesting texture. I like the simplicity and textures being achieved in the tree, leaves, and bushes in the foreground and want the background to feel similar. However I don't want it to compete with the characters. 

Any advice welcome! Also, I'm halfway through the class right now so maybe I should wait to ask this until the end haha.
