Noses completed

Three noses.

Each one poses its own challenges but the last one has been the more challenging for me.

I found that the paper saturates quickly with the first layers of blue series pencils (graphite) and it is difficult for the marks of the black series pencils (graphite + charcoal) to stay on the paper if they are softened out. This makes very difficult to draw soft transitions from dark black to mid-tone.

My guess is that the last nose would have been much easier to draw with charcoal only (to be honest I feel that charcoal and graphite are not really natural partners, although the results are obviously great)

Having said this, I'm very happy about having done these exercises and I am ready to move on to the next lesson.
