First time using Gouache
I was really hesitant to go ahead with this, but so glad I did! It turns out I can paint if I just try and don't give up straight away!
At first, I used some Daler Rowney tubes that came out sticky like a gel.. I did some research and Google suggests this is because the gum has separated from the pigment over time. They did not blend at all! (Black and pink top left)
My second one with cheap Temu paints that I was happy to ruin went much better. Not sure if that's how you paint clouds, but I tried it anyway.
Then I started following Zaneena and it got much easier and understandable along the way, but dummy here knocked over her water bottle which bled over the page and made the paint washy :(

For the next I felt more confident and switched to the more expensive Himi paints my fiance brought for my birthday that I didn't want to ruin. This one was supposed to be an autumn path, but for some reason I had a moonlit ocean cliffside road in my head in the same curved road shape as the original, so I just rolled with it. The waves are a little messy.. not confident with water yet.
Then I went with a dreamy lilac mountain lake.

My last one sucks. I couldn't get the blend from blue sky to golden sunset right and ended up with a muddy green gradient. I went with Zaneena's suggestion to cover it over with clouds if you're not happy with it, so it looks a little better than before.
I guess I was supposed to blend blue into white, then add the orange below the white? I'll try that some other time. Again, I really need to be more slow and patient with water :(

Thank you so much for the class! I feel much more confident with paints now that I know gouache is my happy place.
