Upcycled Containers
For the class project in Painting Crafts: Upcycle with Flowery Garden Designs, we will transform an ordinary cardboard container—such as an oatmeal/cereal box, paper tube, or small shipping box—into a beautiful, hand-painted work of art inspired by a flowery garden theme.
I'll demonstrate specific painting techniques step by step, so you can follow along to upcycle a container into a decorative piece that’s functional, sustainable and visually delightful.
Project Goals
-
Repurpose a cardboard container using safe, eco-friendly materials
-
Plan and sketch a garden-themed design (flowers, foliage and butterflies, etc.)
-
Use painting techniques to bring the design to life
-
Apply finishing touches to enhance durability and presentation
Requirements (Optional, but highly recommended.)
-
Use at least one type of flower and one additional garden element (e.g., butterfly)
-
Incorporate at least three colors and three techniques
-
Upload a photo of your project to the student gallery with a brief reflection about your experience/process
- Leave an evaluation of the class under the Reviews Tab below the video. (This will help me improve my instruction, so you can have the best learning experience possible!)
