Video Editing Techniques: A Practical Guide to Creating Visually Appealing Edits

Mathew, thanks for taking the class, and well done on your project edit! The song cut at the beginning was a smart way to separate the intro from the main section, that worked really well. I also liked the simplicity of the blank frames between jump cuts and found that to be a practical and strong stylistic choice. Your creative ideas came through clearly, especially with that pause effect sequence at 13 seconds, a really interesting effect. I liked that you repeated that effect at the end to help tie the story together. One idea to push it even further and instead of fading Joyce out at the end, you could try using a similar blank frame jump cut with multiple flickers to phase her out. That would call back to the earlier moment and help unify the style. You might also consider removing the slide transition for the "OUT NOW" text and instead have it appear between the blank frame cuts, keeping the motion consistent with the beginning's text graphics. Just some thoughts for an even more cohesive cut,  BUT OVERALL, really great work, Mathew!
