This little corner in my den had perplexed me for months as I was not able to find a bookshelf to fit hte space. I finally found one at West Elm that was perfect, and styled it with items from my youth and time in the service. The top shelf has my favorite cat vase along with two contrasting shiny plant vessels. 

My "Shining Star" object is the American Flag presented to me upon my retirement from military service, while the bottom shelves contain various glasses and steins from my time in Germany. The cigar box contains treasured memories such as photos, ticket stubs, postcards and other mementos. The hassock is there for me to sit on when accessing files in the bottom drawer. 

I will occasionally burn incense or light candles on this bookshelf when meditating, taking a chill session, or contemplating my next move. And of course . . . . puppies make everything better.
