Creative self-portrait: Day 3 Peekaboo
Day 3: Peekaboo
This photo project also resulted in a couple of different attempts. I first started with my abanico (fan) trying to imitate a peekaboo moment. The photos turned out to have a melancholy vibe (I had received an upsetting call before I took the photo) and I did not want to end the project on this note. The word "peekaboo" for me represents a more upbeat and silly experience and I thought my "shadow" moment did not fit with the project vibe.
Because I needed to release some of those emotions, I decided to start playing with my dog instead, and the photos from that moment are more representative of a peekaboo moment that I've decided to use those as the main photo(s) for Day 3.
These two first photos are the first attempt to the project:

Below are the photos of my peekaboo play-time with my dog, Lulu. I also decided to use a mirror that I am currently working with to create a macrame project (self-care galore!) to somehow incorporate different levels of peekaboo (coming behind an object). I loved the end result and even Lulu got her own peekaboo portrait.

Because Lulu gets tired of playing the same thing over and over again, she got bored after a few photos that I had to work extra hard to get the right pose and angle. I am posting below some of those attempts to get her into the photo-time mood.

Day 2: The object and I
I had a difficult time getting started with this photo project. I attempted to photograph an object related to one of my hobbies, crochet. I tried to hide myself and only show a small portion of my body while exposing a christmas tree skirt that I made last year, while at the same time holding the yarn colors that I used for that project. It was a mess. I couldn't hold everything together while at the same time hiding under the warm Christmas tree skirt.
So, I decided last minute to drop all the objects and let the photo flow (I used a 10-seconds timer on my phone) with the swing of my hands playing with the Christmas tree skirt on top of my head. I love the fluidity of the cover photo.
I am sharing some of the photo attempts below so that you can see the progress and tiredness associated with this photo shot.

Day 1: Photos of two body parts.
I enjoyed finding different ways in which to photograph two body parts. I had so much fun with both photographs, but the one with my feet had me laughing like a child in the car on that night.
The idea of photographing my fingers holding the rim of my hat came about as we were waiting for the ferry on a very windy day. So windy that I needed to switch hands every so often so that my hat would not fly away to the bay.
The photo of my feet was fun because as we were driving at night looking for ice cream, I started thinking that time was running out that day and I still needed to take one more photo of a body part. As I was tired of walking all day, I've decided to put my feet up and play with my arch and toes. I had a blast and ice cream afterwards. :)
