Process Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets

I loved this class! Painting sunsets was out of my comfort zone but what sparked my curiosity was OHW's playfull expressive approach so I gave it a go! I gained so much foundational knowledge about color bias and mixing; pigment/h20 ratio and paper wetness when incorporating all of these variables in a thoughtful way. I tried different papers: Strathmore sketchbook paper A4, Fabriano 100% cotton which is my preferred. My pigments were all W&N tube pigments which I find give me freedom and more control over fluidity. I also learned how to create a second "primary palette" especially for sunsets starting with what I had on hand: Aureolin Yell, Opera Rose, Dioxazine Purple, Paynes Grey, then as needed Cerulean Blue and plan to buy Cadmium Yell & Quin Magenta. I'm so excited to continue exploring expressive sunsets and as I move through my daily life I will be paying attention to dramatic skies and capturing them this Spring & Summer with my camera for further references!! Thank You Ohn Mar for sharing your in depth exploration of this wonderful process!!Process Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets - image 1 - student projectProcess Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets - image 2 - student projectProcess Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets - image 3 - student projectProcess Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets - image 4 - student projectProcess Projects for 6 Stroke Sunsets - image 5 - student project
