It all starts with an idea - Poster Design
I made this poster for my home office. My walls need something and I wanted to create something motivational for myself. I grew up in Eugene, OR and Nike was something that really inspired me as an 8 year old, and still does today. My grandmother had worked in the athletic department as a receptionist with Bill Bowerman at the U of O. She had told me about working there, how she'd greet him every morning. Then one monday morning he had come in and she asked about his weekend. He told her how he had ruined his wife's waffle iron over the weekend and was in the dog house now. If you're a fan of Nike and their history, you know about how the waffle iron is an iconic piece to their beginning. I've always loved that story from my grandmother, so I decided to take that and turn it into a small motivational poster and reminder to myself, it all starts with an idea.
Here are some iterations of how I got to my final waffle iron design.

I taught myself blender so I could create the idea and model I was envisioning.

And here's the final design that's now hanging up in my office. This was "merch" I made for myself, and in the spirit of Draplin, I just wanted to make some cool shit and have fun with it
