Wow, Jenny! This was so much fun and exceeded my expectations. I have so many questions and so much to learn. My two paintings are still wet, but I will post them once they have completely dried. I used a mixture of old Americano and Plaid acrylic paints that I’ve had for many years, along with some newer Americana metallic paints and Liquitex White. I purchased the Liquitex pouring medium, but I'm not sure I can afford to continue using it; I used about 6 ounces just for the two paintings. I probably needed more since my paint was older and thicker. It took me a while to set everything up, and while I was painting, I realized I need to find a way to set up my workspace for a smoother process. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with my first attempt and can’t wait to do more! My color inspiration came from the following:

My first pour was a 'dirty pour.' I think my mixtures poured fairly evenly, but they might have benefited from being a little more fluid.

My 2nd attempt was the ‘clean pour’. I added some of the flow extender to the used leftover paint, but don’t think I got it quite thin enough, although I love how the composition and how the colors merged better on this 2nd

 

How can I fix the paint drop (circle) and the smudges that didn’t flow upward in the green area?

I don’t have a hair dryer, only a heat tool. Do you recommend using a hair dryer or blow torch? If so, do you have a brand or wattage that you recommend?
