I completed this SEO course to gain knowledge and improve skills in marketing. The objective was to understand the importance of SEO for a business, and how it is utilised to target audiences, achieve business goals, and initiate growth.

I will use this assignment to identify if the keywords ‘linen set’ will attract audiences to ‘Nude Lucy’ fashion label and see where Nude Lucy ranks on google search.
 

I searched ‘linen set’ into Google and sponsored ads appeared top of search, showing Nude Lucy among five businesses. Revealing, Nude Lucy priorities google ads for SEO (See Picture Above). However, Nude Lucy page-level link features show weakness, as I was unable to find the brand until page 8 on Google. The highest ranking search was competitor, ’DISSH’.





It is interesting on the DISSH page, as the keyword I searched came up simplified as ‘linen’ (See Picture Above). But, Nude Lucy used ‘Women’s Linen Set’, which I believe to be more specific and align with my keyword search (See Picture Above). Both fashion labels use ‘linen’ in product names. Yet, Nude Lucy still had a lower ranking. 


DISSH also used keyword ‘sets’ to link to a page, showing all available fashion sets on their website (See Picture Above). This shows DISSH using keywords more strategically than Nude Lucy, as I was able to find links through my search to discover pages for linen clothing and sets available on their website.

Nude Lucy need to apply a SEO strategy to help targeted audience find their ‘linen’ clothing through searches, as their competitors are currently showcasing better rankings on google. By applying a SEO strategy, audiences will be able to easily find what they are looking for, as well as, Nude Lucy can increase web sales and have more brand awareness.



In summary, this course was able to highlight the importance of SEO strategies to prioritise audience and business needs. My keyword search was able to identify Nude Lucy is lacking high google search rankings, and their competitors are able to achieve a more successful search experience for audiences.
