Ryshonn, The Wizard

Ryshonn, The Wizard - student project

Past: Age 8

He and his family were on a trip to his aunt Emiline's estate, at that moment he was playing with his siblings in the water, and they were all splashing around, the six of them under supervision from their Father and uncle lord Lochanan. His Mother was in deep conversation with Emiline and his brothers tackled him under the water of the pond. Ryshonn's brothers got off of him and he surfaced laughing and splashing them with water. He looked down at the water near him and saw that there were things shining underneath the water, Ryshonn dove under the water to see what it was. As he reached it he found that it was a piece of glass. But the glass was strange. It was glowing. Ryshonn picked the glass up and turned to swim upward again. He set his feet on the pond floor to push off and reach the surface faster. But his feet stuck fast. Ryshonn paniced, he tugged on the pond weed that held him, and the weed around his left foot pulled away, yet the one around his right foot stuck fast. He floundered in the water, but the weed wouldn't break. He heard shouting and as his vision began to faid he saw his Father and uncle jump into the water and swim down to him. His Father tugged on his arms, as his uncle went to his feet, his uncle withdrew a dagger and cut the stubborn weed. Ryshonn's world went black before he reached the surface.

When he came to there was a weight on his chest, someone pressed on his chest. He coughed, and vomited water on the ground to his left. He gasped for breath and after a few seconds he sat up. He was shaking and felt arms wrap around him. He starred into the face of his uncle and his uncle sighed in relief. Ryshonn looked at the pond and felt fear. He never wanted to go into deep water again.

Present: Age 23

Ryshonn starred at his enemy with anger in his eyes. "You the only way you will ever win, is if you learn to face your fears." Gelding said. "Leave Gabriella out of this. Your quarrel is with me." Gelding laughed. "If I wanted to hurt you I would have killed her. But as it is you need a push to fulfill your destiny. So you must do this without magic. And thanks to the glass shards at the bottom of this pool you cannot use your magic. Ryshonn, all three of us know that I cannot stop this prophecy from being fulfilled. I am it's puppet. It will make me do anything to keep it going. I am sorry."

And Gelding chained Gabriella up and shoved her into the pool of dark water.

"Gabriella!" Ryshonn shouted. He looked at the water and the fear he had felt as a child crept into his mind. The fear was debilitating and he warred with himself. But when he thought about Gabriella and how she was counting on him to save her. And he jumped into the water after her. He didn't let his mind think about anything but Gabriella. He swam as fast as he could and reached her in seconds. Ryshonn looked around and saw that the pool walls were uneven. He reached for the chain that held Gabriella's wrists together and pulled it over his neck. Gabriella held onto his shoulders and Ryshonn swam them to the wall. He found hand holds on the wall and used them to hoist them up. And soon they were out of the water. Ryshonn pulled Gabriella up and onto the rocks at the edge of the pool. She was coughing and when she had caught her breath she looked up at him. "Thank you. Thank you." Ryshonn nodded and pulled a small packet out of his pocket and used his lock picks to pick the locks and soon Gabriella was free.

Gabriella stared into his eyes. "Thank you." She said again. Ryshonn smiled at her. "Anything for you."

Future: Age 52

Ryshonn exited the door of his home, the sky was gray and it was raining but as he looked around he couldn't help smiling it was a beautiful day. He walked into the rain, not caring that he got wet. The water felt rejuvenating. And when he stopped walking he was standing in front of a beatuful woman with black hair that was only begining to gray and wonderful blue eyes, it was Gabriella he offered his hand to her and she took it, and he danced with his wife in the rain, the sprites that could often be found in rain like this brought out their tiny instraments and began playing a cheerful melody. Gabriella smiled up at him, and leaned in to whisper in his ear. "I am just glad they have stopped laughing." She said, and they sharred a secret smile.
