I was very excited to try needlepoint!  My grandma and some of my aunts used to make wonderful pieces with this technique.  These are the two pieces I made for this project.  I kept going a little more than the pattern required on the first one; I guess I was just having so much fun I wanted to continue!  I drew the pattern for the second one on the canvas with porcelain markers.  I couldn't get the yarn the instructor recommended, so I used some I already had, which wasn't quite thick enough to cover the canvas, so I had to double up my stitches, but that was okay.
