How simplify a landscape in watercolor
Project description:
These exercises in using watercolor have been based on how to simplify the elements that inhabit a scene in a landscape using a broader stain and with fewer details. To do this, it has been urged to use maximum cavitation brushes made of natural hair or imitation of this type of hair and also to use a super small format of watercolor paper.
I have used the following brushes:
- Petit Gray Squirrel Type N°8
- Chinese Calligraphy
- Kolinsky type (imitation
The paper has been Rough grain, 300 gr. And 100% Cotton from the Winsor and Newton brand
Results

Petit Gray Squirrel Type N°8

Chinese Calligraphy

Kolinsky type (imitation)

Chinese Calligraphy

Exercise using all three brushes together. You can check how big it is
Conclusion
It is highly recommended to use large brushes for these types of simplification exercises. It makes you go more to the main point of the images and subtract all those superfluous details that are usually done in most attempts to create a landscape... Losing the essence of the scene to be painted!
