Descriptions of my room

Description 1:

I live in an apartment, and the living room is one large open space. The walls are supposed to be white, but almost 10 years of daily life made them a strange tint of beige. There are brown clouds on the corners, drawned by water infiltration. The wooden floor reflects the weak winter light. A small wooden table thrones in the center of the room, its legs cut down so that we can sit on the floor. A hardcover book with blue butterfliesand a French title  is placed on it. The silver bracelet I forgot to put back on my wrist lingers there too, along with forgotten magazines and car keys. It looks messy.

Description 2:

My apartment doesn’t look tidy at all. From the scattered magazines, books, scarf and car keys on the coffee table, to the water spots on the walls, the whole place looks more like it belongs to a student than to a grown up woman. I like it anyway: the way the wood varnish on the floor shines in the January light, the blue novel with a weird cover I still haven’t read, the strange yellow tint of the walls after so long without cleaning them, my lucky bright bracelet…they all look familiar and comforting.
