DOWN SYNDROME
- Down Syndrome (Chromosome 21): The extra chromosome in newborns before birth.
-Facial Features: upward slanting eyelids, short necks, tongue that tends to stick out of the mouth, small head, flattened face and small nose with a flat bridge, small round ears, and skin fold of the upper eyelid covering the inner corner of the eye.
- Health Factors: risks of hearing problems, physical struggles, and expose to negative impacts that in behavioral level of maturity. Slow growth rate.
*Food intake: Keep hydrated, eat more fiber, avoid sugary drinks and gluten, and prioritize balanced meals.
-Physical: height of 4’8” for girls/5’2’’ for boys.
-Intellectual: The IQ is estimated at 50 in education level.
- Lifespan: living to be about 60 years.
-Treatment: Early Intervention, educational therapy, and therapies.
