This was fun and I learnt so much about texturing and Displacement modifiers, but I did have to remake the ring three or four times in order to get a set up which didn't generate artificating with the fish scale texture. But that was just my bad, everything else went smoothly!

I know my scales are going top to bottom instead of around, but I actually liked this design more for some reason.
