My diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box

I made my first body easel from an Ikea Mala sketch box. The idea came to me when I saw Toby Haseler's videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhA_6TlMeMA&t=38s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW5rSFgpLXY where he uses such a cheap childrens' sketch box (about 10 euros) either to simply put it onto his lap or adding a tripod plate to draw on a tripod.

I just sew some  sturdy straps  I had collected from old bags to it. It was a bit hard to do and is not very nicely done, but it holds very well. For the shoulder straps I made them from my fabric collection. My diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box - image 1 - student projectMy diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box - image 2 - student projectMy diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box - image 3 - student projectMy diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box - image 4 - student project My diy body easel made from an Ikea Mala sketch box - image 5 - student project

I'll probably use it more for sketching than watercolouring. The surface (a bit more than DinA4) is a bit limiting as I am quite a messy person and always need lots of room`:)

Thank you Chris for all these great ideas you gave us with this class, I'll probably make a larger easel one day!
