Man, where do I even begin with this one?

The one tiny mistake I made that still haunts me. This is such a tricky memory to think off as I can think of so many instances in which I thought I would do no wrong but ended up doing everything wrong. I also have a habit of overrating my ability, something I regret and is working to improve.

Let's talk about one particular instance, one that made me realize who I am as a person. As a person who is autistic, while also diagnosed with ADHD, i struggle with saving money. I have no problem with spending money however. Often times I would find myself in debt because of it.

I was visiting a video game shop, looking for games to buy. I stumbled on one of those rolls that had the game I was looking for. NBA 2K10, what a game that was, I thought. As I was scrolling through the game section, my mind distracted me from the game I was looking for. I went into the store looking for that game I mentioned, in particular, but was blown away by other games too. "Halo, GTA, NBA Live 10." What a selection, I thought. As I was continuing to browse the shelf, I end up grabbing NBA Live 10, Halo as well as NBA 2K10, the game I yearned for in the first place.

As I checked out, I ended up paying for all three games. At that time, I thought it was no big deal as I ended up spending 140 plus tax. Back then I didn't care about money as I thought I had all the money in the world. I did not know how money worked, nor did anyone teach me. I had no knowledge of the real world, lived in my own bubble, believed in what I believed in.

Even though it was a tiny mistake, it still haunts me because I ended up selling the other two games (NBA Live 10 and Halo) for much lower prices than I initially bought for. I bought both games for 80 dollars, 40 each, ended up selling for 50 in total. Looking back I wished I would've been more careful when choosing games to buy. I also wished I would've been more confident in my choices, as well as not getting swayed by things I didn't need. If I go back with the knowledge i have now, I would've just grabbed the 2K and left. I wouldn't have bought other games I didn't want, since buying them weren't a necessity.
