Food Photography: A Beginner’s Guide to Lighting

I honestly thought this was shot in a studio! The natural light from the small window, angled slightly above the shooting table, creates a beautifully soft and inviting atmosphere. It's amazing how the light highlights the rich texture and deep tones of the coffee beans, making them look incredibly appealing.Your dramatic flowers photo is equally captivating. Changing up the backdrop and utilizing more direct sunlight adds a wonderful sense of depth and drama to the composition. The way the light interacts with the flowers brings out their vibrant colors and delicate details, making the image truly stand out.It's fantastic to see how you’ve applied these skills to create such stunning visuals for work. You should! :) That's how it all started for me. But my favorite part is being able to capture food in so many creative ways. Learning so much and discovering new things along the way.. but yes money is nice too! :D When I was just starting out I would photograph food and products from local businesses that I LOOOVE then tag them when I post it on social media. I also add a genuine appreciation and review of their product. Most of them eventually hired me to photograph their food and products :)

I about to move to a new state, and that's what I plan to really start doing, finding local places to photo/tag and see what happens!!

I love being able to practice these skills to take photos for work!
