A soundtrack project intended for 1) inspiring my writing; 2) use as background music for fantasy roleplaying games; 3) general listening. This has been remixed entirely from loops, stems and clips that are part of commercial packages sold by Ghosthack (I have their Skyrealm and Shymer 1 and 2 packs).

From my perspective, I'm not making any pretence that the compositions originated with me, but they do allow the beginner to achieve pretty mind-blowing results in short order—which is why your course has been so useful. This is the result of just a couple of days of playing around, cutting and pasting and re-combining the various loops, stems, pads and FX provided in these packages (and there are many, many more). They also provide the midi files so that as my skills grow, I hope to be able to use the sampled sounds to create entirely original pieces.

It's many years since I was a 'real' musician, but the combination of Garageband on my iMac and the availability of packages like this have really boosted my enthusiasm to simply play around and enjoy the results. the next step is to dig out that midi keyboard that's been gathering dust and get more adventurous!
