Wonderful painting! You did an amazing job with the textures and color transitions. I also really love the touches of orange you added to the slightly reflective surface of the apple. One suggestion would be to not follow the contour of the apple when painting the background on the left side of the apple. This is harder to avoid in a physical painting where the subject is placed before working on the background, but in a digital medium you can use layers or masking techniques to work on the background while preserving the work you put into the subject.Thank you for your feedback as well! I would love to hear what section(s) of this class you would have liked slower or with more instruction so that I can keep that in mind for future classes.

Thanks for the tip! That would help flatten the surface for sure. I did it in layers but I now realize that when I was putting on my original textures to the background I did it "around" where the apple would be. I mostly struggled with the color selections while you were demoing. I ended up replaying that part a few times. How did you adjust the colors so quickly without losing the original color?

When I use the Flat Brush to paint, I press lightly with my Apple Pencil so the color applied is translucent and allows the underlayer of original color to show through too. You'll see in the class that I also sometimes sample colors directly from the painting as I progress so I can pick up these new inbetween colors for more subtle color transitions.

I like the technique. It went a little fast but it was good.
