Turning Procrastination to Productivity
CREATING PRODUCTIVITY
- The Procrastination for me is watching videos on TV and You Tube often that I end up doing hurrying to do other tasks in the morning and watching it all night that I wake up later in the morning, and watching another video without watching the time. This happens as trying to relax before certain events in family, certain assignments, or out of town entertainment that I try to find ways to ease from stress and anxiety that I forget about them completely.
- I get overwhelmed and feel like that I may not get to do any opportunities to change and get addicted to the entertainments and not pay attention to my health at times. At times that I begin to doubt myself and think that I’m not good enough to go further to challenge myself.
- And after doing some tasks, I am given a small reward for the work that I put in and out of thanks for it, but I feel like that I don’t deserve it because I never asked for any rewards for doing what I love to do and feels good doing it. But, accepted for consideration for the people who are kind and generous. And being thankful.
- I do feel the fear of failure and criticism while aiming for success that I feel overwhelmed to want to avoid facing it and withdraw to watching entertainment and not bother trying. And being judged as not good enough no matter how much effort is put in improving and learning from my mistakes.
- This type of procrastination doesn’t work because it delays and waste time to actually improve skills and character growth to learn from failure and not worry too much about the criticisms that are added that I escape to internet to avoid the stress and anxiety building up overtime. Which can have an negative affect on myself.
- Regaining the control and setting goals is by limiting the amount of time spent on the internet and videos to doing house chores and finding activities that will help with improving both physical and mental health. Also, making time schedule to make time to have basic work done to have enough time to relax with a limit amount of entertainment after getting the work done. It can also have problems with socializing which leads to isolation.
- The vices and Path of Resistance is to set up certain timelines to limit the amount of time I spend on watching a certain video to watch and set another time to do something like read a book, cleaning the house, do drawing, etc. to keep me from being distracted. Also, socialize with people whom to trust, like family and few friends, to help build positive growth.
- Eliminating Distractions: To avoid getting into wanting to watch more videos and other entertainment is to set up to do morning exercise, have healthy food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and to have more water. Substitute caffeine drinks for the tea without the caffeine, and to find other activities like reading, walking, cleaning, and creativity to keep being active.
- When Procrastination is a Larger Issue: when it feels like I am bouncing back into the addiction to entertainment and it becomes an issue, make a project about a certain entertainment in a drama, comedy, literature, romance, mystery, etc. to put into learning about certain details that help grow in learning and to make time after watching to write opinions and thoughts about it, and to take a break to stay active.
- In conclusion, if getting too addicted to a favorite subject alone will not help with coping in facing failures and criticism and taking too much will become overwhelming. Make time to do activity that will help improve physical and mental health and to put in positive quotes that are supportive, and enjoy entertainment afterwards. Be around the people (family and friends) whom you feel comfortable and trust. The process is not always perfect, but having the good ones to hold onto and accept the changes that are positive growth in life.
