Kolbie - I love both your art and teaching styles! The way you outline the processes to simplify and illustrate organic subjects just reeeeeally helps things click in my brain.

I haven't finished this class yet, I'm only done with the first project but I just had to stop to post it here because I think it's so funny.



I live in Boston, and I was inspired to add airplanes flying in and out of Logan Airport over the water. It's a really cool site in terms of the perspectives, where some of the planes look so close that you could reach up and touch them, and others just looking like a distant point of light. So, I was enjoying the painting process way too much to be bothered with reference images... The end result looks more like a skydiving penguin than an airplane haha!

But I still had so much fun with this, and I still love the way the rest of the painting turned out. Can't wait to finish the rest of the class and paint this once more with plenty of references for airplanes lol!
