I'd never done lettering before so I (roughly) used the block method. That was a very useful tip, thank you Brittany.

I used materials I had to hand, which turned out to be some gouache paints, a purple sharpie, a white gel pen and and very fine black pen.

I'm excited to post this off to a friend in New Zealand!
