I tried using ordinary watercolors since I don't have ecoline inks.  The results were far less vibrant.  My colors got rather muddy .  I probably used too much water.  I also did not have all the marker colors, just blues, purples and pinks.  But I enjoyed watching the method, especially the different kinds of shadows.
