I did a scenery similar to the one you showed in your course but ended up with a different color palette. I then came up with the misty pine forest while playing around with the lasso tool. 

 

Thank you for another great course (it's been my second already)! I learned tons of new tricks in photoshop that I didn't know before. And I'm happy with the result. Especially since it's the first time I achieved something like this.
