I hear people say bizarre things all the time because of my auditory processing disability. Usually I take a moment to regroup the sounds or try similar words while considering the context and figure it out on my own. Sometimes I ask, with or without sharing the weird/funny thing I heard them say, for them to repeat what they said. And occasionally when I ask I'm surprised to find out that what I heard was correct and people just say weird things sometimes.
